„Beim Obvara-Brennverfahren, das um das 12. Jahrhundert im Baltikum begann, wird die Oberfläche der Keramik verbrüht, um die poröse Oberfläche zu versiegeln. Ähnlich wie bei der Raku-Keramik wird ein Kochtopf erhitzt, in diesem Fall auf 1650 °F (899 °C), und vom Herd genommen. Der Topf wird dann in eine bestimmte Hefemischung getaucht, bevor er in Wasser getaucht wird, um das Stück schnell abzukühlen. Die Effekte sind ziemlich atemberaubend und für jedes Stück einzigartig.“ Raku-Keramiken dienen aufgrund ihres kreativen Prozesses und ihrer Natur nur zu dekorativen Zwecken.
